This position involves cutting, shaping, bending, and assembling sheet metal components according to blueprints, drawings, or specifications. Sheet Metal Workers often work with materials like stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and galvanized steel to create ductwork, roofing, siding, HVAC systems, and more. They use a variety of tools, including shears, brakes, welders, and riveting machines, to produce precision-made metal products. Attention to detail, knowledge of fabrication techniques, and the ability to read and interpret technical plans are essential in this role.
